About the Chancellor's Club

The UC Irvine Chancellor's Club is the oldest and one of the most active community support groups on the 40 year old campus. Starting with a handful of business leaders in 1972, the club has grown to approximately 400 members consisting of parents, alumni, and campus and community leaders. The club generates funds for the Chancellor's Fund for Excellence, which provides funding for scholarships, fellowships, faculty recruitment and other areas of critical need identified by the Chancellor. Of course, businesses are crucial partners in the success of the university today and will even be more important in the future.

Why business membership?

Companies enjoy a special relationship with the university through their Daniel G. Aldrich, Jr. Business membership in the Chancellor's Club. Two individuals (and their guests) can represent a company at club events and programs, where they are afforded access to university academic and administrative leadership. This is an opportunity to experience firsthand the academic, research, artistic, athletic and social aspects of a world-class institution of higher learning. Through corporate sponsorship opportunities, a company gains recognition as active and involved community supporters.

How does your company membership
help the Campus?

When the campus opened in 1965, 75 percent of the funding was provided by the state. Private support is now more crucial than ever before, as state funding has dropped to approximately 20 percent of the campus budget in 2007. Our students have faced significant fee increases over the past few years. Financial aid is critical to their long-term success and to UC Irvine's ability to attract and recruit and retain the best and brightest students. Faculty from around the country and the world must be recruited to continue to add to the stature and rankings of the campus among world class research institutions. The Daniel G. Aldrich, Jr. Business level will help to fund these important needs.

The Daniel G. Aldrich, Jr. Business level is an excellent place to network and socialize with other community members while helping students at UC Irvine.
